Breakfast Spiced Date Buns

  • 1 stick vegan butter, softened

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom

  • 1 package Julia’s TableⓇ White Rolls

For the Glaze and Topping:

  • ¾ cup powdered sugar, sifted

  • 1 tablespoon beverage-style coconut milk

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ cup pitted dates, coarsely chopped

  • ¼ cup toasted flaked coconut


  1. Preheat oven to 375℉.

  2. In a medium bowl with a hand mixer beat together butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, coriander, vanilla, and cardamom.

  3. Cut rolls in half and spread spiced butter over bottom halves of rolls. Put rolls back together and place in an 8” square baking dish or skillet. Cover tightly with foil and bake until butter is melted and fragrant, about 15 minutes.

  4. In a small bowl whisk to combine powdered sugar, coconut milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls, then sprinkle with dates and coconut. Serve warm.
